Mothers' Center is Falling for Fall
What a fun day at the Lido Beach Festival! MCSWN had a table with great raffle prizes from local supporters like Hub Billards, Empire Kayak, Goldy’s Wine & Liquors,
J Paul's Terrace Cafe and Lia's Pizza .
Thank You to everyone who came out in support of our work!
Working with fellow member Virginia (the best minion ever) yesterday was so much fun, inspiring, and gratifying. Talking to mom's about what we want to do at the MC & hearing their responses was beautiful. Running into old co-workers, my old boss, fellow members like Linda & her kids, and other Parents was uplifting. Explaining what we do in a discussion group , and a quick photo op with the best minion ever was enough for them to make a donation & tell me what a great job we were doing for moms. Person after person commented on the good work we're doing. And seeing the best minion ever dance was hilarious, even though her skin was sweating under there & mine was burning (unknowingly) in the hot sun, we fed off one another's good will. I was super surprised how easy it was to pass out fliers & show them the table. I had never done that before, and was a little worried I wouldn't be an asset. But that quickly changed. Every person who had a flier thought it was such a great idea to "give what you don't want & take what you need" for our Fall Clothing Swap on October 8th. That was great to hear!
That's what it's about for me. Getting more moms to know about how we do.
We also represented the Mothers' Center at the Stars & Stripes Festival in East Rockaway the weekend prior. Thank you to our supporters & volunteers!
